Heavy Duty Cleaner and Brightener for Aluminum and Stainless Steel
Chembrite is a special solution developed to clean and brighten aluminum and stainless steel. Chembrite not only cleans and brightens, but also retards or prevents further corrosion.
There are other products on the market which make claims about cleaning and brightening, but most are simply surfactants and water and are ineffective.
Chembrite is effective and easy to use, and is much safer then hydrofluoric based brighteners.

To remove light to medium deposits on aluminum or stainless steel, no pre-cleaning is necessary. Mix equal amounts of Chembrite and water together. Using a nylon brush, apply the mixture evenly to the aluminum or stainless steel surface you wish to clean. Allow to sit for 5 to 30 minutes. Using a brush, rag, or mop, rub the mixture into the surface while rinsing with fresh water. High pressure rinsing can replace rubbing.
Chembrite on Aluminum Pots
At The Earl Station kitchen, we have some Magnelite and Mirror pots and pans that have been in service for 20 to 30 years. The luster had definitely gone from some of these, and we wanted to try to make them look nice again. As explained below, we used Chembrite to restore the original shine. The results were unbelievable.
This Mirror Pressure Cooker was really showing its age. The unit has been in service for over 30 years.
First, we soaked it in detergent for about an hour to cut through the built-up grease. This step must be done first so the Chembrite has direct contact with the aluminum. We then submerged the pot in a bucket with Chembrite mixed one-to-one with water. We let it stay in the Chembrite solution for about 30 minutes. Then we removed the pot from the bucket and rinsed it with water. The built-up crud and discoloration just rinsed right off in an amazing sight. The end result was spectacular.
Now we're not embarrassed to have the pressure cooker on the stove!
